The crisis provoked by the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the ability of the famalicenses to overcome and to be resilient, but it has also not let down their entrepreneurial and innovative vein.
The idea found by a bar in the city to get around the times of confinement and make their cocktails - the Chérope - reach their customers' homes and the example of entrepreneurship of the Re-Coffee project that launched its first line of trainers from the waste of coffee grounds and recycled rubber, are only two of the thirty-four projects generated in Famalicão that this year were recognized with the stamp "Famalicão Visão'25".
"It is remarkable that in such an atypical year and in this demanding context that we are going through, we have registered such a large number of applications", said yesterday the Mayor Paulo Cunha, in the solemn session commemorating the 185th anniversary of the Council Day, which took place in Vilarinho das Cambas and was marked by the delivery of the stamps awarded annually by the municipality to recognize the initiatives, actions or projects that have contributed to the cohesion, competitiveness and intelligent and sustainable development of the territory.
This was, moreover, the year in which most applications for the Famalicão Visão'25 stamps were registered - over half a hundred.
"We have managed to bring a set of initiatives that signal the entrepreneurship of our municipality, but also how our fellow citizens set in motion projects that help the territory to be more successful”, he explained.
“Mais do que enaltecer a história”, para o edil famalicense as comemorações do Dia do Concelho servem também para pôr a comunidade “a pensar no futuro”. “Vivemos num território que acredita, que vai à luta e encara as dificuldades e é preciso trazer para o palco aquilo que de melhor se tem feito em Famalicão”, disse Paulo Cunha.
"More than just praising history", the Council Day celebrations also serve to put the community "thinking about the future". "We live in a territory that believes, that goes to the fight and faces the difficulties and it is necessary to bring to the stage the best that has been done in Famalicão", according to the Mayor.
Bear in mind that this is already the fifth edition of the Famalicão Visão'25 Stamps, which are distributed in 4 categories: "Famalicão Made IN", "B- Smart Famalicão", "Força V - Famalicão Voluntário" and "Famalicão Comunitário". Altogether, more than one hundred projects have been recognized.
In the "Famalicão Made IN" category, business projects that foster technological incorporation, seek excellence in production, develop an economy based on knowledge and innovation and increase competitiveness and internationalisation are recognised. In the "B-Smart Famalicão" category, projects or actions are recognised that increase the quality of life, optimising the links between rural, urban and industrial, and lead to a more self-sufficient territory, sustained by the domestic economy. In the category "Força V - Famalicão Voluntário" are recognized projects or actions that promote new environments of community participation and involvement.
In the category "Famalicão Comunitário" are recognized projects or actions that value the collective, reinforce the cooperation between different actors and promote the co-responsibility of citizens.
